How to host a printable escape room party for kids
Print the game pages, put each station in a numbered envelope and give the answer card to one grown-up. The kids solve a station, say the code, and a right code earns the next envelope. The last code opens a box or bag of treats. Setup takes 10 to 15 minutes and needs no locks, app or internet.

Pick a game for the ages
- Ages 5 to 10, Christmas: every station has a picture level for little ones and a reading and math level for older kids, so mixed ages play as one team
- Ages 8 to 12, spy birthday: six coded stations, and the birthday child's name appears in the story
What you need
- A printer (black and white is fine)
- Scissors, pencils and 7 envelopes (or folded paper)
- A box or bag for the treats or prize at the end
Set it up
- Print the pages and fill the numbered envelopes
- Keep the answer card with the grown-up who checks codes, so nobody can peek
- Hide the treat box somewhere the kids can see but not open
Run the game
Read the story aloud and hand out the first envelope. When the kids say a code, check it: a right code earns the next envelope. Give a hint if a team is stuck. A game takes about 45 to 60 minutes.
Big group?
Print one set of pages per team of 2 to 4 kids and run a race between teams.

About 45 to 60 minutes of play, plus 10 to 15 minutes of setup.

No. A grown-up checks each code, so you only need paper, envelopes and scissors.
What age is a printable escape room for?
Ours are for ages 5 to 10 (Christmas) and 8 to 12 (spy birthday); 7-year-olds can play the spy game with a grown-up reading aloud.
